homestretch

Whew, at least I am in time before October ends. So, what's up with the charming singer? She's still gigging Saturdays at Prophets in Mandaluyong (see previous blog) and though, the whole week is free - she's busy finishing up on her sophomore album under MCA. The music video will debut tomorrow night, Saturday, at MYX with behind-the-scenes footage. Dianne Elise hopes that the album release is this month, but there is still no venue.
The carrier single of her new album entitled, Committed, is "If You're Not the One." She fought hard to make this song the flagship. The song is already being played in radios although the CD release is yet to happen. What a marketing marvel these wizards do at MCA.
She is also excited about a new project. She wants to do a charity show in November, as another birthday offering. When she turned 18, instead of a grand debutante's ball, she had a charity concert at her parents' bar, Options in Tomas Morato (closed now) in November of 2003, which featured Noel Cabangon, among others; and she was able to contribute P30,000 to Childhope Asia, an organization which teaches streetchildren from the proceeds of the show (100%). After five years, it's about time she repeats this act of kindness, which Dianne Elise thinks did more for her emotionally and spiritually than the meager amount that helped the street kids in some way.
She will have an hour show with WAVE 89.1, with one of their resident DJs to interview her about this latest CD and do the radio tours anytime soon. By November, she will be back at WAVE 89.1 with her Vintage Soul program. Watch out also for the mall tours which of course, I will be posting.
I gathered some pics here for your perusal. So, ta-ta for now. Catch up with you later.

growing up...and in color...

metamorphosis of dianne elise:
- as a baby, she sang herself (hummed) to sleep
- at 2 to 4, she performed for her parents and relatives on top of tables
- at 6, she performed on stage and sang her first songs with karaoke tracks
- at 12, she started opening for filipino singers who went to the u.s. like jose mari chan, ogie alcasid, marco sison, rey valera, kai, plus many more
- at 13, she recorded her very first cd in the u.s. entitled "let it fall" produced by jim levy
- from elementary to high school, she was a member of the school choir and even the prestigious honors chorus
- at 18, she produced a charity show and donated all the proceeds to childhope asia, an organization which teaches education to streetchildren
- at 21, she recorded her second album, albeit her first in the philippines and now has a song being heard all over - called "you're the inspiration" - her carrier single from her cd, now and then....
quite a metamorphosis indeed....
